What's your best tweet?
That is absolutely not for me to decide!
What are six things you could never do without?
Only one thing - memory. If all else left you, memory would be your last redoubt of experience and hope.
How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
More as an added avenue of connection with people who care than anything else. Offer info, but not much "self-promo."
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Tweetdeck for desktop and iPhone.
Twitter or Facebook?
Twitter.
What was the funniest trend you've seen?
I love all the meta data you can contain in one entirely personal and made-up hash tag topic. #ijustsaidmetadata
What feature should Twitter add?
I like the bare simplicity of it and the openness to 3rd party apps. I wouldn't start adding things it doesn't need!
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Vladimir Putin could be interesting.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
I'll sacrifice any individual word for greater tweet depth!
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
No. I tweet a lot. I wouldn't wish that on anyone who didn't actively seek it out.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
Yeah. Not gonna say who, but why bog yourself down with negativity? I'm human and don't need unconstructive commentary or trolling.
Why should we vote for you?
Not necessarily sure that you should, & if you did, you'd actually be voting for my followers, who voted ME to #1 (for at least a sec!)
Terms you wish would start trending on Twitter right now?
I don't check out trending topics. In my twittersphere, hashtags are more about metadata.
What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
Tough to say. Been able to help out and meet "fans," get connected with mutual friends of friends, a few "business" things - all important!
Hashtag you created that you wish everyone used?
I like unique hashtags, but #listeningtorecordsIhaventlistenedtoinareallylongtime could start some good conversations
How do you make your tweets unique?
Huh? How do you make any conversation unique? By speaking with your own voice, I guess.
What inspires you to tweet?
Now that's a silly question. It could be anything!
Ever get called out for tweeting too much?
A few times. Whaddaya gonna do? You can always "unfollow" if it bothers you.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Tweet with your own voice - "speak" your tweets; and just embrace the conversation - don't approach it as a chore.
How long can you go without a tweet?
"Can" go forever. Would "choose" to tweet interesting dreams as they happened if I could.
What question are we not asking here that we should?
You've already asked more than I would've thought to, so... Probably not for me to say.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Probably Corey Booker, mayor of Newark, NJ. Doesn't solicit, but effectuates DEEPER connection w/his consituents. THAT'S Twitter.
Why'd you start tweeting?
Ran screaming from MySpace & Facebook. Liked the immediacy and intimacy of Twitter.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Micro blogging, conversation, connection, 2-way immediate access w/fans & friends, community w/o all the apps, ads, & pressure
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
I dunno - everyone in my feed seems to be doing it pretty well, and I've rarely gotten an "@tedleo" that wasn't worth reading!
How will the world change in 2010?
In the span of only one year, the world won't change any more than we as individuals do, but collectively... you know where I'm goin' w/that
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Not being able to read tone and taking someone's tweets too seriously, as in replying haughtily to things meant to be rhetorical.
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
10 years closer to doing away w/pretence and just admitting that it's been "1984" since... 1267 or thereabouts? (Hanseatic League)
